Christians
Taught
Differently.
In the
approximate year
of 178 of our
Common Era,
Celsus, the
Epicurean
Philosopher and
opponent of
Christianity
published a
rather
embarrassing
work in
opposition to
Christianity
known as The
True Word or
Discourse, which
portrayed the
Church as a
"secret system"
which taught
the elect the
doctrine of the
soul that
evolves to
perfection over
the course of
many lifetimes,
while teaching
the
unenlightened
entry-level
Christians the
doctrine of
Heaven and Hell.
It is said that
this work was so
widely published
and used by the
Pagan world as
an attack on the
Church. Seventy
years after its
publication The
True Word was
still so widely
circulated, that
the Church
Father Origen
was commissioned
by St. Ambrosius
to refute this
attack by Celsus.
Who was Origen
that he was
asked to present
the official
position of the
Church? Origen
is called
“…the most
prominent of all
the church
fathers”
(Encyclopedia.
Britannica), and
was considered
by Jerome to be
“the greatest
teacher of the
Church after the
Apostles.”
St. Gregory of
Nyssa called him
“the prince of
Christian
learning in the
Third Century.”
In his
Introduction to
the Criticism of
the New
Testament, by
Dr. F. H.
Scrivener, one
of the ablest of
modern-day
biblical
scholars and
critics writes
of Origen:
“Origen
is the most
celebrated
biblical critic
of antiquity.
His is the
highest name
among the
critics and
expositors of
the early
Church. He is
perpetually
engaged in the
discussion of
various readings
of the New
Testament, and
employs
language, in
describing the
then existing
state of the
text, which
would be deemed
strong if
applied even to
its present
condition, after
the changes
which sixteen
more centuries
must needs have
produced… Seldom
have such warmth
of fancy and so
bold a grasp of
mind been united
with the
lifelong,
patient industry
which procured
for this famous
man the
honorable
appellation of
Adamantius.”
Based upon the
above, the
published reply
of Origen known
as Contra-Celsum,
to the
allegation of
the Church being
a
"secret system"
that teaches
those who have
achieved degrees
of spiritual
maturity
different than
the masses of
entry-level
believers, must
be understood as
the official
position of the
Church. Quoting
the Wikipedia
with respect to
the support of
the confirmation
of teachings in
Origen's Contra-Celsum
(see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contra_Celsum
:
"Eusebius
admired Contra
Celsum so much
that in his
Contra Hieroclem,
he declared that
Contra Celsum
provided an
adequate
rebuttal to all
criticisms the
church would
ever face".
Among the
mysteries that
were concealed
and not openly
taught to the
masses who were
too carnal and
undeveloped in
their thinking
to receive the
deeper truths of
the Gospel
teachings, was
the doctrine of
the
pre-existence of
the soul.
Again, in his
writing known as
The True Word,
Celsus accused
the Christian
Church of
teaching the
masses the
spurious
doctrine of
heaven and hell
in an after
death state,
while teaching
the elect the
doctrine of
reincarnation.
Though this may
astonish the
modern believer,
Origen does not
refute Celsus,
but rather
explains that:
“But on these
subjects much
and that of a
mystical kind,
might be said;
in keeping with
which is the
following: It is
good to keep
close the secret
of a king, (Tobit
xii, 7), in
order that the
doctrine of the
entrance of
souls into
bodies, not,
however, that of
the
transmigration
from one body
into another,
may not be
thrown before
the common
understanding,
nor what is holy
given to the
dogs, nor pearls
be cast before
swine. For such
a procedure
would be
impious, being
equivalent to a
betrayal of the
mysterious
declaration of
God's Wisdom”.
It is important
to recognize
Origen's
statement that
“It is good
to keep secret
the entrance of
souls into
bodies”,
Origen writes,
but
“not… the
transmigration
from one body
into another”.
In other words,
Origen openly
acknowledges
that the
pre-existence of
the soul, as
well as the
doctrine of
transmigration
(reincarnation)
are openly
revealed to
Christians who
have been
purified and
matured
sufficiently to
comprehend the
mysteries of
God, while the
knowledge of why
the soul even
came into this
world is kept
secret, and is
not openly
revealed to
carnal minds.
In explanation,
Origen quotes
scripture and
writes
“It is good
to keep close
the secret of a
king”,
and affirms that
certain
mysteries only
belong to the
spiritually
mature in the
word, and that
one should not
permit
“what is holy
given to the
dogs, nor pearls
be cast before
swine”.
When Eusebius,
who is portrayed
as the Church
Historian stated
that Contra
Celsum can
"...provid an
adequate
rebuttal to all
criticisms the
church would
ever face",
he never could
have envisioned
or even imagined
a Church where
Contra Celsum
remains totally
unknown among a
religious people
who portray
themselves as
the followers of
Christ.
This fact is
easily
demonstrated by
quoting the
Gospel account
of Jesus where
it states:
"And with many
such parables He
spoke the word
to them
as they were
able to hear it.
But without a
parable He did
not speak to
them. And when
they were alone,
He explained all
things to His
disciples"
(Mark 4:33-34).
Why couldn't
Jesus explain
the mysteries of
the Kingdom to
all those who
came to listen
to his
teachings?
The answer is
found in the
statement:
“Unto you it
is given to know
the mystery of
the kingdom of
God: but unto
them that are
without, all
these things are
done in
parables: That
seeing they may
see, and not
perceive; and
hearing they may
hear, and not
understand”
(Mark
4:11-12).
It is
ultra-important
for every person
seeking to
understand the
realities of
life to pose the
question: Why
can't people of
an organic mind
and
consciousness
understand the
higher mysteries
of the Kingdom?
Further, how did
Jesus know who
was prepared to
hear and
understand --
i.e.,
"...And when
they were alone,
He explained all
things to His
disciples".
When Jesus said:
"And why call
ye me, Lord,
Lord, and do not
the things which
I say?"
(Luke 6:46) --
the answer is:
Jesus taught his
followers to
fulfill the Law
within their own
mind and being
(see Spiritual
Meaning And
Fulfillment Of
The Law
http://TheLawOfTheGospels.com#SpiritualMeaningOfTheLaw
).
To his disciples
who were
portrayed as
being In The
House with the
Lord, Jesus
said:
“Unto you it
is given to know
the mystery of
the kingdom of
God: but unto
them that are
without, all
these things are
done in
parables: That
seeing they may
see, and not
perceive; and
hearing they may
hear, and not
understand”
(Mark
4:11-12). In
the Gospels we
encounter two
groups of people
who exist at
greatly
differing levels
of consciousness
and
understanding --
i.e., those who
are portrayed as
being
"without",
and the few who
are said to be
"In The House".
With respect to
the reality of
those who are
portrayed in the
Gospels as being
"without",
in
contradistinction
to those who are
said to be In
The House, the
quotation of the
early Church
Father Origen in
Contra Celsum
represents an
excellent
portrayal of the
reality of mind
and being that
is presented in
these words of
Jesus --
wherein, Origen
writes in reply
to the
allegations of
philosopher
Celsus that the
Church is a
secret system:
“I have not
yet spoken of
the observances
of all that is
written in the
gospel, each one
of which
contains much
doctrine
difficult to be
understood, not
merely by the
multitude, but
even by certain
of the more
intelligent,
including a very
profound
explanation of
the parables,
which Jesus
delivered to
'those without'
while reserving
the exhibition
of their full
meaning for
those who have
passed beyond
the stage of
exoteric
teachings, and
who came to him
privately
in the house.
And when he
comes to
understand it,
he will admire
the reason why
some are said to
be
without,
and others
in the house”.
In talking to
the people,
Jesus could see
and detect the
level of Law
that each person
had fulfilled,
by the
"frequency
and vibration"
of their
Consciousness
(see Spiritual
Osmosis And The
Narrow Gate
http://TheLawOfOctaves.com#Osmosis
) -- and this
remains true to
this very day.
In fact, the
vast majority of
modern
Christians would
totally reject
Contra Celsum,
because of their
spiritually
flat-lined level
of Consciousness
-- i.e.,
contrary to
statement of
Eusebius with
respect to
Contra Celsum as
being able to
"...provide
an adequate
rebuttal to all
criticisms the
church would
ever face".
Those who merely
called and
professed belief
in Jesus, had
ignored the
fulfillment of
the Law that he
taught (see
Spiritual
Meaning And
Fulfillment Of
The Law
http://TheLawOfTheGospels.com#SpiritualMeaningOfTheLaw
), and they
lacked the
necessary
transformative
change of their
mind. What did
Jesus say?
"For verily I
say unto you,
till heaven and
earth pass, one
jot or one
tittle shall in
no wise pass
from the law,
till all be
fulfilled.
Whosoever
therefore shall
break one of
these least
commandments,
and shall teach
men so, he shall
be called the
least in the
Kingdom of
Heaven; but
whosoever shall
do and teach
them, the same
shall be called
great in the
Kingdom of
heaven. For I
say unto you,
That except your
righteousness
shall exceed the
righteousness of
the scribes and
Pharisees, ye
shall in no case
enter into the
Kingdom of
Heaven"
(Matt 5:18-20).
The
Gospel of the
Nazirenes
preserves the
original meaning
where it is
written:
"They
who believe and
obey will save
their souls, and
they who don't
obey will lose
them.
For I say to
you, That except
your
righteousness
exceeds the
righteousness of
the scribes and
Pharisees you
will not enter
the kingdom of
heaven."
Why? Because
the Law monitors
your every
impression and
thought in the
process of
bringing about
the
transformation
of the mind (see
Spiritual
Osmosis And The
Narrow Gate
http://TheLawOfOctaves.com#Osmosis
). When the
above is
understood,
repentance can
also mean that
one releases
themselves from
the shackles of
carnal thinking
and man-made
dogmatic
doctrines of
belief -- i.e.,
beliefs that
inhibit
spiritual growth
and
development.
When Origen
replied with
respect to the
allegations
against the
Church by Celsus
on being a
secret system --
i.e.,
“But on these
subjects much
and that of a
mystical kind,
might be said;
in keeping with
which is the
following: It is
good to keep
close the secret
of a king, (Tobit
xii, 7), in
order that the
doctrine of the
entrance of
souls into
bodies, not,
however, that of
the
transmigration
from one body
into another,
may not be
thrown before
the common
understanding,
nor what is holy
given to the
dogs, nor pearls
be cast before
swine. For such
a procedure
would be
impious, being
equivalent to a
betrayal of the
mysterious
declaration of
God's Wisdom”.
In order to even
begin to
understand the
mysteries of
God, it is
absolutely
necessary to
understand
"the
transmigration
from one body
into another"
as the Soul
evolves to
Wholeness and
Perfection.
To understand
what can be
portrayed as the
Cosmology of
Mind is easier
if I begin from
the perspective
of Jewish
Mysticism. The
following
quotation is
taken from The
Universal Jewish
Encyclopedia,
under the
heading of
Souls,
Transmigration
of:
“The doctrine
of
transmigration
of souls, which
was especially
accepted by the
Karaites… is
defended by
Isaac Abravanel
and Manasseh ben
Israel. It
appears often in
Cabala; it is
found in
organized form
in the Zohar, it
is further
developed in the
teachings of
Isaac Luria
(1534-1572), and
in Hasidism it
becomes a
universal
belief.
According to
these teachings,
all human souls
have a common
origin in the
spiritual unity
of the
primordial man,
sparks of which
form the
individual
souls... The sin
of Adam brought
higher and lower
souls into
confusion; as a
result, every
soul has to pass
through a series
of
incarnations...
The soul itself
has no sex,
which is
determined by
the body and may
vary from
incarnation to
incarnation”.
Reincarnation
was the
framework of the
Original Gospel
Teachings before
being corrupted
in the fourth
century (see The
Pre-Nicene
Position Of The
Church On
Reincarnation
https://brotherofyeshua.blogspot.com/2022/04/the-pre-nicene-position-of-church-on.html
). In the
Zohar, which is
the foundational
doctrine of
Jewish
Mysticism, it is
written that:
“All souls
are subject to
the trials of
transmigration;
and men do not
know the designs
of the Most High
with regard to
them… The souls
must re-enter
the absolute
substance whence
they have
emerged. But to
accomplish this
end they must
develop all the
perfections, the
germ of which is
planted in them;
and if they have
not fulfilled
this condition
during one life,
they must
commence
another, a
third, and so
forth, until
they have
acquired the
condition which
fits them for
reunion with
God”.
.
Each spark of
the Divine Mind
is a Soul -- and
can be thought
of as a Single
Neuron in the
Mind of God --
and yes, the
Soul is the
Being of Light
that is our
True-Self. The
Soul which is a
twelve-dimensional
Being of Light,
grows and
evolves over the
course of the
incarnations
where in a
three-dimensional
divided
condition,
interacts with
others to evolve
the Light of the
Soul. Being
created in
accord with the
image of God,
each
three-dimensional
(human)
soul-personality
is as a single
neuron in the
mind of the
Soul.
The Law is that
all things must
return to their
Source. In the
same way that
each Soul must
return to God,
each
soul-generated
personality must
return to the
Soul (see The
Matrix Of
Soul-Mind
http://TreeOfLife.Nazirene.org#MatrixOfMind
). Which means
that while our
Soul or
True-Self
evolves over the
course of many
lives, each
soul-generated
personality
(human-incarnation)
only lives one
life and must
return to the
Soul. This is
presented in the
Gospel of Thomas
saying 84: (84)
Jesus said,
"When you see
your likeness,
you rejoice. But
when you see
your images
which came into
being before
you, and which
neither die nor
become manifest,
how much you
will have to
bear!" What is
being stated?
Saying 84
presents what is
portrayed as
YOUR LIKENESS,
and YOUR IMAGES.
It does not say:
When you see God
-- and this is
because you
dwell within the
reality of your
own soul-self --
and it is your
soul-self that
is in the above
portrayed as
"your likeness"
that dwells
within God. When
rightly
understood, we
only dwell
within God by
proxy. Those

The Cosmology Of
Mind And Being
When Paul stated
to the
Corinthians who
he had himself
taught what he
portrayed as the
"traditions"
of the Gospel
that,
"And I,
brethren, could
not speak to you
as to spiritual
people but as to
carnal, as to
babes in
Christ. I fed
you with milk
and not with
solid food; for
until now you
were not able to
receive it, and
even now you are
still not able;
for you are
still carnal"
(1 Cor 3:1-3),
because of their
lack of
soul-evolution,
it would have
been impossible
for Paul to
convey to the
Corinthians the
higher reality
of the Soul and
the Mysteries of
the Kingdom.
Thereby forcing
Paul to convey
only what he
portrayed as the
"milk for
babes in Christ",
rather than
"spiritual
solid food"
that would have
been impossible
for them to
comprehend. In
the same way
that if you
attempted to
give
"solid food"
to an infant
they would be
choked and could
not consume the
food, the
"milk"
of the Gospel
was necessary
for the
consumption of
souls who were
too immature to
receive and be
nourished by the
Higher Knowledge
of the Soul and
the Mysteries of
the Kingdom.
And this is seen
in the statement
of Paul to
the body of
confirmed and
baptized
believers who he
stated had
received all the
entry-level
truths and
knowledge
pertaining to
the elementary
"traditions"
of Christ:
“But the natural
man does not
receive the
things of the
Spirit of God,
for they are
foolishness
to him; nor can
he know them,
because they are
spiritually
discerned”
(1 Cor 2:14 NKJ).
And this is why
in his
Epistle to the
Trallians the
first century
elder Ignatius
who was himself
a disciple of
John, speaks of
the Mysteries of
the Gospel and
the Kingdom, and
writes:
“Might I not
write to you
things more full
of mystery? But
I fear to do so,
lest I should
inflict injury
on you who are
babes. Pardon
me in this
respect, lest,
as not being
able to receive
their weighty
import, ye
should be
strangled by
them”.
Which is why
Paul
stated that it
was
"unlawful"
for him to
reveal the
higher reality
that he
witnessed --
i.e., truths
"...which it
is not lawful
for a man to
utter"
(2 Cor 12:2-4),
to those he
portrayed as
being of a
"natural"
organic mind.
When the first
century elder
Ignatius wrote
to the Christian
congregation of
believers that:
“Might I not
write to you
things more full
of mystery? But
I fear to do so,
lest I should
inflict injury
on you who are
babes. Pardon
me in this
respect, lest,
as not being
able to receive
their weighty
import, ye
should be
strangled by
them”
-- he said this
because if he
was to begin to
even convey the
truth and
reality of man's
higher soul and
spiritual nature
and man's
relationship and
place in the
Kingdom of
Creator-God,
these very same
Christians would
quickly dismiss
him as a crazy
lunatic, and
they would no
longer listen to
a thing that he
said.
Therefore,
Ignatius, as
with all the
biblical authors
(see
Mystery),
understood that
the mind of the
believer must be
developed and
matured -- and
this is
accomplished
when the dormant
spheres of mind
that do not
correspond to
this physical
world are able
to become
activated and
developed -- in
order for the
believer to
begin to
perceive and
grasp his own
higher soul and
spiritual
reality.
When Jesus said
to the woman at
the well that
she was unable
to go and get
her husband
because she had
five husbands
(John 4:18), we
must be
cognizant of the
fact that Jesus
and other
spiritually
advanced souls
are able to see
into the Mental
Ætheric Field
dimensions that
man in his
natural organic
condition
cannot. What
Jesus was
observing when
he made this
statement, was
the stream of
vital life-force
from five
different men
with whom the
woman had sex,
as a connective
thought-stream
entering into
her (see Sexual
Immorality
http://SoulSelf.org#SexualImmorality
).
And this
expansion of
organic human
perceptive-vision
and conscious
beyond normal
physical limits
is what is
portrayed in the
process:
"Whom will he
teach knowledge?
And whom will he
make to
understand the
message? Those
just weaned from
milk?
Those just drawn
from the
breasts?
For precept must
be upon precept,
precept upon
precept, line
upon line, line
upon line, here
a little, there
a little"
(Isa 28:9-10 NKJ).
In the same way
that an infant
grows into a
child and adult
one step at a
time, so too
does the process
of
mental-expansion
take place line
upon line. And
this immaturity
of mind and
spirit causes
the vast
majority of
believers not to
comprehend an
important
overlooked and
not understood
Bible passage
states in
reference to the
Higher Reality
of God that
mankind is blind
to:
“‘For in him
we live and move
and have our
being.’ As some
of your own
poets have said,
‘We are his
offspring’”
(Acts 17:28 NIV).
If we indeed
"...live and
move and have
our being"
within God, then
what is our true
relationship to
God? When we
put the
foregoing
together with
the statement by
James Jeans
that:
“...the
universe begins
to look more
like a great
thought than
like a great
machine”.
Or the words of
Arthur Eddington:
“The stuff of
the universe is
mind-stuff”.
What is
portrayed is a
higher reality
that few people
are even
prepared to
contemplate --
much less,
understand with
sufficient
degree to even
form a realistic
opinion.
An Enlightened
person who
understands the
Natural Laws of
Creation,
understands that
God is not a
being who is
separate from
man -- but is
the very
Consciousness
within which we
move and have
out being.
Perhaps one of
the best
teachings (which
was removed from
the canonical
Gospels by the
Church), has
been preserved
in the outlawed
Gospel of the
Nazirenes,
and is known as
the parable of
the fishes
(quoting):
"And there
were certain
men, of doubtful
mind, who came
to Yeshua, and
said to him, You
tell us that our
life and being
comes from God,
but we have
never seen God,
nor do we know
of any God. Can
you show us whom
you call the
Father-Mother,
one God? We
don't know if
there is a God.
Yeshua answered
them, saying,
Hear this
parable of the
fishes. The
fishes of a
certain river
communed with
one another,
saying, they
tell us that our
life and being
is from water,
but we have
never seen
water, we don't
know what it is.
Then some among
them, wiser than
the rest, said,
We have heard
there dwells in
the sea a wise
and learned
fish, who knows
all things. Let
us journey to
him, and ask him
to show us what
water is. So
several of them
set out to find
this great and
wise fish, and
they came at
last to the sea
where in the
wise fish dwelt,
and they asked
of him. And when
he heard them he
said to them, O
you foolish fish
that don't
contemplate! The
few of you who
seek, are wise.
You live, and
move, and have
your being in
the water; from
the water you
came, to the
water you
return. You live
in the water,
yet you don't
know it.' In a
similar manner,
you live in God,
and yet you ask
of me, 'Show us
God.' God is in
all things, and
all things are
in God."
Does a fish see
the water? No.
They only see
the physical
form of the
objects that
exist within the
water -- or in
the analogy of
the fish, the
the water is the
Reality of Mind
within which all
the physical
objects exist.
At a deeper
level, all of
Mankind and
Creation exits
-- and is
intimately
connected --
within the Mind
of God. And
while, like the
fish, organic
man can only see
the form of the
physical
objects, because
organic man is
blind to the
Reality of Mind
and Spirit, we
fail to see that
“‘For in him
we live and move
and have our
being.’ As some
of your own
poets have said,
‘We are his
offspring’”
(Acts 17:28).
Which has been
confirmed in the
words of James
Jeans that:
“...the
universe begins
to look more
like a great
thought than
like a great
machine”
-- and the words
of Arthur
Eddington who is
portrayed as an
astronomer,
physicist, and
mathematician
who did his
greatest work in
astrophysics.:
“The stuff of
the universe is
mind-stuff”.
When an action
initiates its
opposite, this
action and
reaction is
brought about by
the Natural Laws
of Creation.
And those who
seek to
understand the
Natural Laws
have been
traditionally
known as
Deists.
While Ralph
Waldo Emerson is
known as the
father of
Transcendentalism,
he is also known
as a
Deist -- but
by definition,
it has been
noted that Plato
and Pythagoras
can be defined
as a
Deist. But
of ultra
interest is the
statement in the
book on Emerson
where it is
written:
"Emerson gives
his argument a
special twist at
this point since
his first
sentence also
alludes to
Paine's Rights
of Man. Arguing
for the rights
of men over the
rights of
institutions and
government, he
recalls Paine's
claims for the
sacred rights of
the individual.
Like Emerson,
Paine's 'motive
and subject" --
as he describes
it in a letter
of 1806 to John
Inskeep, the
mayor of
Philadelphia --
had always been
'to rescue man
from the tyranny
and false
systems and
false principles
of government,
and enable him
to be free.'" (see
Nature's
Archives - p.
114).
While it is
noted that this
exposé portrays
Emerson's thesis
on the Oversoul
as perhaps his
most important
work, it is also
noted that very
little useable
information is
provided to the
reader. And
because of the
great importance
of this higher
reality, this
present work is
intended to fill
in the great
void with
respect to the
higher reality
of the soul of
man that few
religions or
philosophies
today have any
real
understanding
of.
With respect to
Ralph Waldo
Emerson thesis
on the Oversoul,
quoting the
Wikipedia:
The Oversoul is
an essay by
Ralph Waldo
Emerson,
first published
in 1841. The
broad subject of
the essay,
considered one
of Emerson's
best, is the
human soul.
Several general
themes are
treated: (1) the
existence and
nature of the
human soul; (2)
the relationship
between the soul
and the personal
ego; (3) the
relationship of
one human soul
to another; and
(4) the
relationship of
the human soul
to God.
Influence of
Eastern
religions,
including
Vedantism,
is plainly
evident, but the
essay also
develops ideas
long present in
the Western
tradition, e.g.,
in the works of
Plato,
Plotinus,
and
Emmanuel
Swedenborg.
The essay
attempts no
systematic
doctrine, but
rather serves as
a work of art,
something like
poetry. Its
virtue is in
personal
insights of the
author and the
lofty manner of
their
presentation.
Emerson wishes
to exhort and
direct the
reader to an
awakening of
similar thoughts
or sentiments.
With respect to
the four themes
listed above,
the essay
presents the
following views:
(1) the human
soul is
immortal, and
immensely vast
and beautiful;
(2) our
conscious ego is
slight and
limited in
comparison to
the soul,
despite the fact
that we
habitually
mistake our ego
for our true
self; (3) at
some level, the
souls of all
people are
connected,
though the
precise manner
and degree of
this connection
is not spelled
out; and (4) the
essay does not
seem to
explicitly
contradict the
traditional
Western idea
that the soul is
created by and
has an existence
that is similar
to God, or
rather God
exists within
us. This idea
was later
adopted by many
religions.
Take notice of
the above
statement: "...at
some level, the
souls of all
people are
connected,
though the
precise manner
and degree of
this connection
is not spelled
out" --
and when the
Cosmology of
Mind is
understood, it
is seen that
what Emerson was
missing was an
understanding of
the Matrix of
the Soul (see
Man As An
Embryonic
Soul-Image )
-- and
holographically,
this same Matrix
of the Soul also
exists on a
higher level
within the
Matrix of the
Logos (see
Logos
). Other
quotes by
Emerson on the
soul of man is
seen in the
words:
"The soul
comes from
without into the
human body, as
into a temporary
abode, and it
goes out of it
anew it passes
into other
habitations, for
the soul is
immortal."
And again:
"It is the
secret of the
world that all
things subsist
and do not die,
but only retire
a little from
sight and
afterwards
return again.
Nothing is dead;
men feign
themselves dead,
and endure mock
funerals… and
there they stand
looking out of
the window,
sound and well,
in some strange
new disguise"
—Ralph Waldo
Emerson
